WRINKLE RELAXER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The best product depends on your muscle strength, treatment area, and desired results. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and recommend the most suitable option for you.
The number of units you’ll need depends on your facial anatomy, muscle strength, and the area(s) being treated. Since everyone’s face and muscle movement are unique, your injector will assess you in person to recommend the right dosage for safe, effective results.
As a general starting point, treatments typically begin at around $240, but total cost can vary depending on the number of areas treated.
Follow these tips before your wrinkle relaxer appointment to minimize bruising:
- Avoid blood-thinners for 3–5 days: Blood-thinners include drinking alcohol, taking aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, & certain supplements like fish oil or vitamin E (unless prescribed by your doctor).
You should not receive neurotoxin treatment if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have been sick or received vaccinations in the pat 2 weeks.
You may start to notice results as early as 2–4 days after treatment with Dysport® or Jeuveau® (“Newtox”), while Botox® usually begins to take effect around day 5–7. Final results for all three brands appear by 2 weeks.
If you’re planning for a special event or trip, we recommend scheduling your treatment at least 2 weeks before the big day — ideally 4 weeks before — to ensure your results are fully settled and looking their best.
Results typically last 3 to 4 months for most patients.
Neuromodulator treatments are actually called “lunchtime procedures” because there is little to no downtime! You might see slight redness and small bumps at the injection sites ight after treatment, but these typically go away within an hour. Most patients return to work or normal activities immediately.
Yes! It’s safe to try different brands over time. We will guide you based on your treatment history and results.
No — this is a common myth. Once the effects of Botox®, Dysport®, or Jeuveau® wear off, your facial muscles will gradually return to their normal movement, and wrinkles will return to how they looked before treatment. In fact, with consistent use over time, neuromodulators can help prevent deeper lines from forming by reducing repetitive muscle movement.
